My Creative Journey – Why I’m the Ideal Virtual Assistant for the Creative Industry
Creativity has always been the thread that runs through every chapter of my life. From as early as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to making things with my hands—whether that was crafting, sewing, or simply experimenting with materials to see what I could create. This natural passion has grown into a wide-ranging skillset, and it’s what makes me the perfect Virtual Assistant for individuals and businesses within the creative industry.
My formal creative journey began with GCSEs in Art and Textiles, where I discovered how much I enjoyed not just designing, but bringing ideas to life. I went on to study Fashion and Clothing at college, where I learned dressmaking and developed a real appreciation for craftsmanship and detail.
Over the years, I’ve also completed many courses with my grandma—who has been an incredible mentor and inspiration to me. Through her guidance, I’ve gained valuable traditional skills and a deep respect for the handmade.
I’m a qualified Florist and Nail Technician, and I’ve taken part in countless craft workshops, from card-making and patchwork to fused glass and, most recently, silversmithing. I regularly sew patchwork baby blankets and create custom memory blankets using children’s clothing—projects that combine sentiment with artistry.
Digital creativity plays a huge part in my work, too. I use Canva daily to create everything from social media content to marketing materials, and I’ve even published several children’s storybooks through Canva and Amazon KDP. I also run my own YouTube channel, where I’ve self-taught everything from filming to editing and uploading. My most popular video has reached over 50,000 views, and counting!
